President of the Radio and Television Union, Osama El-Sheikh, is eying airing rights for television dramas “Ayza Atgawez”, “Farah El-Omda” and “Qadiyet Safiya”.
“After acquiring airing rights for series that star veteran actors such as Salah El-Saadani and Yehia El-Fakharani to air during Ramadan 2010, Osama El-Sheikh is now planning to have dramas that star young actors on the Ramadan television calendar,” a source from the union told FilFan.com.
“The television series he’s currently negotiating on are ‘Ayza Atgawez’ starring Hind Sabri, ‘Farah El-Omda’ starring Ghada Adel and ‘Qadiyet Safiya’ starring Mai Ezz El-Din,” the source added.
“He has a LE 60 million budget for the three series; LE 20 million for each, but negotiations are still in process because the producers don’t want the airing rights to be exclusive,” so said the source.
If El-Sheikh fails to obtain exclusive airing rights, then there will be new negotiations on simultaneous airing rights with a lower price.
